Position Purpose

The Safety Team is responsible for implementation of occupational and process safety within the company. The role is also responsible to assist and advice the factory management in the fulfilment of its obligations, statutory or otherwise concerning prevention of injuries and maintaining safe working environment

Strategic Responsibilities

  • To Assist Lead Safety in implementation of Health & Safety related aspects at Plant level
  • To do Planning for implementation of health and safety management systems to avoid incidents / accidents.

Operational Responsibilities

  • Issue of Work Permits
  • Advise the concerned departments in planning and organizing measure necessary for the effective control of personal injuries/accident
  • Advice on safety aspects in all job studies and to carry out detailed job studies of selected jobs
  • To be a Part of Investigation team for investigation of accidents and incidents
  • Investigation of dangerous occurrences and occupational diseases
  • To form the safety committee and act as an adviser and catalyst to such committee.
  • Carry out safety inspections
  • Advice on measures to be adopted for removing the unsafe physical conditions and preventing unsafe actions
  • Comply all requirements of ISO 14001, ISO 45001 & Factories Act etc.
  • Conduct HAZOP study & PSSR and to verify its recommendation of all new products as a team member

Financial Responsibilities

  • Maintain the safety store expenditure as per approved budget
  • Implement the cost saving initiatives in the areas of EHS

People Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety & high productivity at the workplace
  • Conduct suitable training and educational programme for the prevention of injuries.
  • Organize with the concerned departments campaigns, competitions, contest and other activities which will develop and maintain in the interest of the workers in establishing and maintaining safe condition of work and procedure

Education Qualification

B.E. /B. Tech Chemical, Fire & Safety

Functional Competencies

  • Able to conduct Mock Drill, Safety Audits, Safety Inspection and HAZOP.
  • Able to carry out Accident & Incident investigation & analysis
  • Required to crate safety awareness throughout the organization by providing training, tool box talk and with implementation of OHSAS 18001.
