Opportunity:
We are currently seeking talented and experienced individuals for the positions of Officer / Senior Officer in our Quality Control – Microbiology department. This role is crucial for ensuring the microbiological quality and compliance of our pharmaceutical products and manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
As a QC Microbiology Officer/Senior Officer, your responsibilities will include:
- Microbial Testing: Performing comprehensive microbial analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and stability samples. This involves conducting sterility testing, microbial limit testing (MLT), bioburden testing, bacterial endotoxin testing (BET/LAL), and growth promotion testing. You will also manage media preparation, culture maintenance, and microbiological identification.
- Environmental Monitoring (EM): Executing environmental monitoring programs for sterile manufacturing areas, including air, surface, personnel, and compressed gas monitoring. Responsibilities also include trending, reviewing EM data, and reporting adverse findings.
- Utility Monitoring: Performing microbiological monitoring of critical utilities such as Purified Water (PW), Water for Injection (WFI), Clean Steam, Compressed Air, and Gases, ensuring timely reporting of results.
- Laboratory Compliance & Documentation: Maintaining meticulous laboratory documentation in adherence to Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). Ensuring the calibration and qualification status of microbiology laboratory equipment and actively participating in investigations (OOS, OOT, deviations, CAPA, and change control activities). You will also prepare and review microbiological test reports, maintain logbooks, records, and electronic documentation, while ensuring ALCOA+ data integrity.
- Regulatory & Quality Compliance: Strictly following cGMP, GLP, and aseptic practices. Supporting internal, customer, and regulatory inspections (e.g., USFDA, MHRA, EU GMP, WHO) and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Candidate Profile:
- Qualification: B.Sc / M.Sc in Microbiology.
- Experience: 2 to 6 years of relevant experience, preferably within a sterile pharmaceutical plant.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in Sterility Testing, Environmental Monitoring, Microbial Limit Testing, Bioburden Testing, Bacterial Endotoxin Testing (LAL), Utility Monitoring (PW/WFI), Aseptic Practices, and OOS/OOT Investigation. Familiarity with cGMP, GLP, GDP Compliance, and Data Integrity (ALCOA+) is essential.
- Desired Competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, exceptional attention to detail, excellent documentation practices, a collaborative team player, effective communication skills, and the ability to work in shifts if required.
- Preferred Exposure: Experience with USFDA, EU GMP, MHRA, WHO-GMP regulated facilities, and familiarity with quality systems such as LIMS, TrackWise, or SAP is highly desirable. Immediate joiners will be given preference.
