The Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Area Medical Advisor specializing in Vaccines to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal field-based role, you will serve as a critical scientific interface, fostering robust relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and healthcare professionals. Your expertise will drive medical understanding, inform clinical practice, and ultimately enhance patient outcomes within your assigned region.
What You Will Do:
- Provide scientific expertise and cultivate knowledge-based relationships with KOLs to advance medical practice and research, enhancing Pfizer’s image in the scientific community.
- Engage with identified scientific leaders, building regional relationships to gather insights on disease understanding, research trends, clinical practice guidelines, and treatment patterns.
- Educate healthcare professionals about specific vaccine products, addressing scientific inquiries and ensuring effective, evidence-based usage.
- Collect and relay valuable insights from KOLs regarding product application, unmet medical needs, and potential research avenues back to internal teams (marketing, sales, clinical development).
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the latest scientific research and clinical developments in the vaccine therapeutic area.
- Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams including marketing, sales, clinical research, and medical information to ensure consistent and accurate scientific communication.
- Implement medical activities aligned with brand plan strategies for specific products and therapy areas.
- Contribute medical input and participate in advisory boards, KOL meetings, and customer pre-launch/launch initiatives.
- Lead or facilitate scientific discussions, round table meetings, and Continuing Medical Education (CME) events as a speaker or moderator.
- Provide essential medical training and support to our sales force.
Who You Are:
- Education: Graduate or Post Graduate degree in Medicine or allied medical sciences (e.g., MBBS, MD in Pharmacology or Community Medicine, PhD in allied sciences, MPH).
- Experience: 0-2 years of experience required in Medical Affairs.
- Technical Acumen: Foundational understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, including drug discovery, research & development, commercialization, promotion, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Scientific Knowledge: Strong grasp of pharmaceutical medicine, clinical pharmacology, medical and paramedical sciences, medical statistics, and relevant therapeutic areas/products.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including medical writing and compelling presentation abilities.
- Analytical & Judgment: Superior analytical reasoning, sound medical judgment, and decision-making capabilities.
- Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills, a proven ability to build internal and external networks, and influence diverse audiences effectively.
